Sociocultural anthropology, Native American studies, Lakota belief and ritual, Lakota language and ethnohistory.


David Posthumus is an Assistant Professor of Anthropology and Native American Studies at the University of South Dakota. His research examines Lakota (Teton Sioux) culture, history, language, belief, and ritual and how they impact and inform contemporary notions of identity and ethinicity. David is the co-editor of the Ella Deloria volume of the Franz Boas Papers Project.
